The operation is based on the optical absorption method, and is documenting the individual particles of dust absorption detector with subsequent formation of integrated indicators. Provides hygienic control conditions by a factor of dust in the working area and the measurement of technical levels of dust mine atmosphere.

NGO "Red Metallist" (Konotop, Sumy region.) Made a series of mounting devices.

Equipment for measuring and monitoring the methane concentration in the decontamination DVKMD network, based on termokonduktometrical method (first developed a single-chamber termokonduktometrical sensor). Provides automatic continuous measurement of methane content in the degasification pipelines and transmission of information to the control room at a distance of 10 km.

The portable methane detector with built-in thermometer is based on the measurement method thermocatalytic stabilized supply voltage for operating the sensor element and provides automatic measurement of the volume fraction of methane in the mine atmosphere and its temperature and the supply of light and sound signal about exceeding a methane content setting value.

The research activity of the department since its inception is closely linked to the needs of industry, aimed at addressing the most urgent problems of safety in the mining industry.
High-performance scientific research and authority of the school of mine ventilation became the basis for the creation in 1966 at the Department of Industrial Laboratory controls the mine atmosphere, which has made a significant contribution to the development of mine instrumentation. It developed the technical means of verification of methane, dust and air velocity, air flow rate controllers and the like. This poster presents some results of research laboratories.
The novelty of the results confirm the more than 100 copyright certificates, and dozens of patents of Ukraine, the Soviet Union and the Russian Federation, received the department staff.
